Born on 7th June 1976 in Lokoja, Kwara State, North-Central Nigeria, Pharm, Michael Heavens, an indigene of Edo State has in the course of life, school and work transversed the length and breadth of Nigeria. He is a multilingual and a true Nigerian; speaks Yoruba, Hausa, Ibo and his local dialect fluently.

Pharm. Michael Heavens is a firm believer in the totality of the tenets of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and in the sovereignty of God. He’s born again and a communicant member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. He’s a gospel activist and a lover of God.

He is a graduate of Pharmacy (B.PHARM) from University of Jos and also holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from Lagos State University, Lagos. He is a member of several Professional bodies; they include: Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Former Assistant Secretary, National Association of Industrial Pharmacists (NAIP) and Conference Planning Committee Chairman, National Association of Industrial Pharmacists.

As an auspicious start to what has turned out to be a distinguished career, Pharm. MICHAEL HEAVENS had a brief stint as a Medical Representative with Evans Medical Plc from July 2004 to 2008. Between 2008 and January 2010, he worked with Pharmabase Nigeria Limited as the Regional Sales Manager covering Lagos and Ogun States. As a reward for his valued contribution to the growth of the company, he was promoted to the position of Product Manager; a position he occupied from January 2010 – January 2011. From January 2011 to May 2012, he became the Institutions Business Development Manager (NATIONAL) of the same company. In July 2012, he joined Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals Plc as Head of Sales/National Demand Manager; a position he held till November 2014. From December 2014 to February 2017, he became the National Sales Manager, Elbe Pharma Nigeria Limited.

He was appointed as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of CHAN Medi-Pharm Ltd/Gte in February 2017.  As the COO, he effectively coordinated all the four (4) major arms of CHAN Medi-Pharm (Essential Medicines, NGO/programmes, Warehousing/Supply Chain Management and PATH2 Businesses) and made sure they deliver their numbers. He also complimented the efforts of the Marketing and National Sales Managers in promoting the company’s brands for better sales. As the COO, he served as a member of the Finance and Medicare & General Purpose Committees of the Board of CHAN Medi-Pharm Ltd/Gte in the capacity of COO.

On April 8th 2018, he was elevated to the position of Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CHAN Medi-Pharm Ltd/Gte. Since assuming this position, he has provided leadership and strategic direction to CHAN Medi-Pharm Ltd/Gte and other members of the Executive Management Team so as to ensure that the company meets its strategic objectives and goals in line with its Vision and Mission.

Pharm. Michael Heavens is a highly organized and result-oriented individual with many years of experience in Pharmaceutical sales and marketing.  He is highly innovative and have good attitude to details with an outstanding follow-through capabilities and a knack for achieving set goals and objectives.

Through his experience and exposure, he has contributed to the advancement of the Pharmaceutical field; he has some publications in peer-reviewed journals and has made several paper presentations at seminars, workshops and conferences.

His believes for continuously training and retraining so as to fit into the ever evolving trends in the world has made him to undertake some Courses/Training within and outside Nigeria; they include: PSS1 (Professional selling skills one) 2004, Lagos, PSS2 (Professional selling skills two), 2005, Product knowledge and selling skills 2006, Mumbai, India, PSS3 (Professional selling skills three), 2007, Kwara, Group selling and Marketing skill 2008, Ogun, Branch Manager Business Acumen, 2009, Lagos, Lagos, Effective Supervisory Skills 2011, Lagos & Cost Saving Techniques 2013, Lagos, Leadership Training for Organizational Growth, 2012, Lagos-Nigeria and several workshops, courses and trainings within and outside Nigeria.

Lastly, he believes in giving back to society. This passion has birthed some thriving initiatives such as the scholarships awards given annually to financially challenged students to aid them from primary to tertiary institutions and the giving of financial and technical support to small business owners. He is the Founder “Make them Smile”. An NGO targeted at women involved in small businesses. Through this group, he has championed the course of putting smiles on the faces of women with small businesses in Nigeria.

He is happily married to Mrs. Oluwakemi Grace Heavens and their marriage is blessed with three (3) children.
